Why I’m building the platform behind second homes in Mallorca.
I have lived in Palma for eight years, and Mallorca still gives me great days every week. I also see the same homes sit for years, owned by people far away, sold by many offices with many prices. The work is good. The system around it is not. So I am building the system: one machine room that owners, agents, specialists and every front share, so the time people spend here goes to enjoying Mallorca, not to managing a home from a distance.

Forty years of building technology
For four decades I have developed businesses where technology drives innovation and efficiency, for large organisations and for my own companies.
Homebase is built on that experience. What has changed is what the tools allow. They break down the walls that used to slow everything: between departments, between business and IT, between an idea and the code that runs it. Solutions of high quality can now be designed, built and improved far faster, by people who understand the business they serve. That is why Homebase is one platform, not a patchwork: one database, the flows between partners, sites in five languages, and a chat that answers in your language. And I walk the talk in Mallorca. Running Mallorca Homebase, our own front, shows me every day which barriers have to go in a conservative, under-digitised property market. Each one becomes a requirement for the machine room.
What I believe about 2030
2030 is three years away. By then the work behind the screen is gone, and the value goes to the people who meet people.
Two options: get very good at training your AI agent, or get very good at working with people. We are building for both. Agents, specialists and owners train one machine room together, and it frees each of them to do what only people do.
